Toolskraft Battery Hydrometer TKBH-101

The Toolskraft Battery Hydrometer TKBH-101 is a diagnostic tool used to measure the specific gravity of the electrolyte (sulfuric acid) in lead-acid batteries. By testing the density of the acid, it helps determine the state of charge and overall health of individual battery cells in automobiles, inverters, and industrial equipment.

Usage Instructions:

  1. Preparation: Ensure the battery is not under load and has rested (ideally 24 hours) after its last charge. Do not test immediately after adding water to the cells.

  2. Extract Electrolyte: Open the battery cell cap. Squeeze the hydrometer's rubber bulb, insert the nozzle into the cell, and slowly release the bulb to draw enough liquid into the chamber to make the float rise freely.

  3. Take the Reading: Hold the device vertically at eye level. Read the value on the scale where the liquid surface intersects the float.

  4. Repeat for All Cells: Return the electrolyte to the same cell and repeat the process for every cell in the battery. Note each reading to check for variations between cells.

  5. Clean Up: After use, rinse the hydrometer thoroughly with clean water to prevent acid residue from damaging the tool.
